Andrei Soficaru - principal investigator

Andrei Soficaru obtained BA, MA and PhD at the University of Bucharest in Ancient History and Archaeology. He then completed a postdoctoral Fulbright Fellowship at The Ohio State University. His has experience of 15 years in funerary archaeology and human osteology. The background studies imply the Upper Paleolithic, Bronze Age, Roman-Byzantine and Medieval human bones from bioarchaeological or paleopathological point of view. His work has involved diverse areas of research, including bone biology, taphonomy, paleodemography, paleopathology and human skeletal biology viewed from the perspective of health, quality of life, adaptation, and lifestyle.
